Thanks for every bit of information I've gained by them! :)PAStheLoDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13210315686132933148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11295132.post-46246219297983768722008-01-18T08:52:00.000-08:002008-01-18T08:52:00.000-08:00Hi, I'm a chemistry student who is also very intre...Hi, I'm a chemistry student who is also very intrested in physics.
I just wanted to THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your series of posts and congratulate you for them, as for me at least, they are the clearest and the most understandable I have found on-line about the subject. Please keep them coming. Having clarified (in part at least)some basic concepts I may be able to get deeper to the subject.
Thank you very much again and keep up the excellent work!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11295132.post-53358117672052000942008-01-08T17:57:00.000-08:002008-01-08T17:57:00.000-08:00I'm really happy I look though this feed though th...I'm really happy I look though this feed though the google reader recommendation.
The 3 articles are great, finally I know what it's talking about since I always wonders what's E8 and why is it so important beside it's takes a long time to compute.
thx, after this reading, I feel way more intelligent than I was.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11295132.post-32528447297499515672007-12-12T16:28:00.000-08:002007-12-12T16:28:00.000-08:00Matt,I'll try to write a little bit on the controv...Matt,

I'll try to write a little bit on the controversy. I think I've introduced enough language to talk about both the issues relating to the Coleman-Mandula theorem, and about the mixing of fermions and bosons. The latter is related to what's called BRST quantization. The catch is that what Lisi says about this makes no sense to me. It might be that there's more to BRST than what I studied years ago. But my objections seem to be shared by people who know lots more physics than me.

I guess I could title my post "Some uncertain thoughts on...."sigfpehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08096190433222340957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11295132.post-75199026089303213602007-12-12T15:16:00.000-08:002007-12-12T15:16:00.000-08:00Indeed, thanks for the great series! Most of this ...Indeed, thanks for the great series! Most of this was stuff that I had encountered in passing at some point, but forgotten.

I wish there was a lot more science/math writing at this level (i.e., somewhere in between educated layperson and expert-in-a-neighboring-field), but I guess there will always be a shortage, due if nothing else to the very small niche. :)

If you happen to have a chance, could you elaborate a bit on what some of the problems and controversies are in Lisi's work? Of course, assuming it's possible to explain them in an only modestly technical way...Matt Helligehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14443679835760653518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11295132.post-43404220831533789112007-12-09T18:15:00.000-08:002007-12-09T18:15:00.000-08:00Thanks, this was a great set of articles.
